Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Steal the Spotlight at Wimbledon 2025

Star power met Centre Court glamour as Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were spotted at Wimbledon 2025, attending tennis legend Novak Djokovic’s Round of 16 clash against Alex de Minaur. The internet did what it does best — turned the moment viral.

While the couple’s presence sparked renewed chatter about their rumored relocation to England, it was Kohli’s nickname for Djokovic — “The Gladiator” — that had fans nodding in agreement after a gutsy comeback win from the Serbian icon.

Djokovic’s Comeback Win Keeps History in Sight

Despite a shaky start, Novak Djokovic stormed back to win 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 over World No. 11 Alex de Minaur, sealing his 16th Wimbledon quarterfinal appearance. The win brings him within three matches of a record-equalling eighth Wimbledon title and a 25th Grand Slam overall — a feat that would cement his GOAT credentials.

Djokovic admitted the swirling winds threw him off early:

“Very windy, swirly conditions… he was managing better from the back of the court. It wasn’t a great start for me.”

But as always, he dug in. Djokovic clawed back from 1-4 down in the fourth set, using his signature court craft to dismantle De Minaur’s momentum.

Kohli, Anushka, and the Federer Cameo

Kohli and Anushka, seated in the royal enclosure, weren’t the only celebrities catching the action. Roger Federer was also in attendance — and even got a cheeky mention from Djokovic in the post-match interview:

“Sometimes, I wish I had a serve and volley like the gentleman right there,” he joked, pointing at Federer.

The couple’s presence at the All England Club wasn’t their first — eagle-eyed fans pulled up throwback photos of their previous Wimbledon outings, adding a nostalgic twist to the moment.

What’s Next for Djokovic?

With momentum now firmly in his corner, Djokovic will face Italy’s Flavio Cobolli in the quarterfinals. The Serb’s Wimbledon record now stands at 101–11, second only to Federer’s 105 wins at SW19. As the draw narrows, all eyes are on whether he can tie Federer’s crown tally and reach Grand Slam No. 25.
